Well here goes my first ever entry in my all new blog which is designed to give my present clients, event venues and future clients an insight to the various ways Create the Scene can decorate any venue using different 'decor media', which I offer along with our reputation for personal service.

I have over 12 years experience in the events industry, not just decorating events, but coordinating, designing and organising everything from overseas transport logistics to how the napkins should be folded!

It's been an interesting journey setting my own business up through the 'Credit Crunch" but I have had lots of support from friends, clients, colleagues and family along the way, without which I don't think I would be writing this blog today.

Right here goes the interesting bit, just a snippet from my diary of the events I have had the privilege to decorate recently.

The wedding season has kicked off and my new Shabby Chic candelabra has already been adorning a lovely white and ivory wedding which was decorated with our chair covers and sashes, swags and bows with trailing lights to highlight focal areas.

Create the Scene is happy to travel and the next wedding was in Birmingham. I had a fantastic space to work with and only highlight decor was needed to bring out features of the hotel. The skylight above the pond was covered with starcloth and the pond lit with pond floating candles which scented the room with vanilla. Organic candles in a mixture of glass holders and silk petals decorated the pond surround. The four pillars were lit and decorated with ivy trails.
